Multiple large pileups involving tractor trailers and passenger vehicles have shut down parts of Interstate 44 in Missouri on Sunday afternoon.
According to a 4:54 p.m. update by the Missouri Department of Transportation, “both westbound lanes are closed at mile marker 142 near Lebanon, Missouri and both eastbound lanes are closed at Mile Marker 186 near Rolla, Missouri.”
There have also been pileups reported around mile marker 110 and mile marker 119 on Interstate 44.
Facebook user Ashley Rozane, a woman whose black truck ended up on top of a semi, shared the following images from one of the pileups.
Initial reports indicate that there are dozens of injuries between the many pileups, however an exact injury or fatality count is currently unavailable.
Local KYTV News anchor Lisa Rose shared the following footage of the pileup near Rolla.
